When my little gets home from school, he is hungry. And like the little man in training he is, that means he tends to get a smidge grumpy when hungry :)
I love to have a snack waiting for him when he gets out of school and the first couple of weeks I try to make it special!
I stumbled along these great cookie ideas a couple years back and he loves them.
You can use any simple sugar / butter cookie recipe. (I won't even tell if you use a mix!) Divide into as many bowls as you want colors, add food coloring and mix. Then roll into little logs and make one end pointy. Bake as directed. When completely cooled melt some semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave and spoon into a Ziploc baggie. Twist bag until all the chocolate is smooched (that's a technical term) into a corner. Snip the corner and decorate like crayon.
It makes after school snacks fun and that works for this mama!
